Before you begin, you need to know what you are looking for. A quick glossary:

• Chemise: is like a short nightgown a bit like a sun dress

• Teddy: A teddy is usually in one piece, like a swimsuit.

• Thongs and g strings: A thong is a pair of panties that has a little more fabric going up the back and a G-string has just a string.

• Corsets: A corset traditionally has boning that goes over the bodice and is laced or hooked at the back. It can have an underwired cup or be quite flat. Corsets traditionally are tightly cinched at the waist to give the wearer a noticeable hourglass figure, but they also can be laced loosely and worn as a regular top.

Know her size

The best thing to do is to look in her lingerie drawer and see what bra size she wears. It is impossible to guess this as all women are not built the same. So check the bras that she wears frequently as these will most likely be the right size. Notice what styles she likes to wear and buy along those lines. Then you can be sure that the fit is right and she will like them.

Choosing colors.

Notice the colors that she usually wears and buy colours similar to those as women like to coordinate their look. If in doubt black and white are good basic options.

Bra shapes and styles

What is her lifestyle? Does she tend to wear very casual or formal clothes. What lingerie would fit her lifestyle? Low cut balcony bras (less of it ) are normally half cup and are for more dressy outfits like evening wear. The fuller cup bras are more comfortable and can be worn all day. Pick bras with good support for ladies with larger cup sizes. They will appreciate your thought in this. Panties

A sporty lady will tend to be aware of visible panty lines (VPL) too, so she might like thongs as opposed to fuller knickers. You can even find low cut hipster thongs to go with those low slung jeans.

Most importantly buy what she will be most comfortable in and not you would like to see her wear. Do be adventurous and buy her something new that you will both love and have some fun with this.
